Principal Attorney
Derek Reid
Derek Reid brings over 14 years of experience from the Spokane County Public Defender’s Office, where he managed a diverse range of cases, including Juvenile Delinquency and Adult Felony Caseloads. With a strong foundation in criminal defense, Derek has successfully conducted more than 50 trials, covering cases from Driving Under the Influence and Sexual Assault to Aggravated Murder.
Derek’s dedication to his craft is evident through his continuous professional development. He has attended prestigious programs such as the National Criminal Defense Trial College, the National Forensics College, and the University of Iowa Juvenile Mitigation Seminar, enhancing his expertise in defending complex criminal cases.
When not in the courtroom, Derek is an avid hockey fan and enjoys playing golf. He also loves traveling with his family, making the most of his time outside of work.

Megan Cain
Megan Cain is an Associate Attorney at Reid Legal, where she brings a strong background in criminal justice and advocacy. A graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law, she also holds a degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Legal Studies from Southern New Hampshire University. Megan’s legal experience spans a range of criminal defense cases, and she has proven herself to be a dedicated and passionate advocate for her clients.
Before joining Reid Legal, Megan served as a Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Planner in the U.S. Marine Corps, where she honed her leadership and strategic thinking skills. She now applies this same focus and discipline in her legal practice, handling cases in Cheney and Spokane District Court.
Outside of her legal work, Megan enjoys bodybuilding, playing the drums, and spending time outdoors. As a proud veteran, she brings the same dedication to her clients as she does to every other aspect of her life.

Haley Maguire, our Criminal Law Contract Paralegal at Reid Legal Office since 2022. With a rich background in the legal arena dating back to 2018, Haley’s expertise is a result of diverse experiences.
Before joining our team, Haley garnered invaluable insights working in criminal defense at a private law firm and the prosecutor’s office. This unique perspective enhances her ability to assist in criminal defense matters, offering clients a nuanced approach.
Known for her kindness and compassion, Haley takes immense pride in aiding individuals through challenging times. Her empathetic approach instills confidence in her clients, ensuring they retain control and understanding at every stage of their legal journey.
Outside the legal realm, Haley cherishes moments with her family, indulging in yearly trips around scenic Montana lakes and camping adventures in the woods. An enthusiast of the Oregon coast and winter snowboarding, she finds solace in lake days, snow days, captivating books, and the serene night sky.

Jenna’s perspective as a first-generation Tunisian American informs her work, particularly in areas of social justice and human rights. Her approachable and empathetic nature ensures clients feel supported throughout their legal journey.
Outside of work, Jenna is a passionate poet and translator, drawing inspiration from her cultural roots and love for travel.
